Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Ear candling.

Ear candling at Refined Beauty is performed by trained therapists using sterile, hollow candles and careful technique. Most clients find it gentle and soothing; however, we screen for contraindications like perforated eardrums, recent infections, or ear surgery to ensure safety.

Sessions generally last 30 to 45 minutes, including consultation and post-treatment care. This allows time for preparation, bilateral candle placement, relaxation, and discussion of aftercare tips to maximize comfort and results.

Many clients report temporary improvement in hearing and reduced ear fullness after wax removal, but results vary. Ear candling may help with wax-related issues; it is not a proven cure for chronic tinnitus or underlying medical hearing problems.

When performed correctly, risks are minimal. Possible side effects include mild warmth, temporary ear or scalp tenderness, and rare issues like candle wax residue. We follow strict protocols and will not treat clients with contraindications to minimize risk.

Arrive with clean outer ears, avoid cotton swabs or ear irrigation beforehand, and bring any questions or medical history. Inform us of recent ear problems, medications, or allergies so we can tailor the treatment and ensure a safe, comfortable experience.

Frequency depends on individual needs; many clients benefit from treatments every three to six months for maintenance. If you experience recurrent buildup or symptoms, we can recommend a personalized schedule during consultation to balance safety and effectiveness.
